Strength Training – Welcome to My World

This audio recording might help you see past some of the bad advice that circulates in every gym. Basically, this is the way I talk when friends ask me about the world of weightlifting – so it’s sort of like sitting around with me and laughing about some of the crazy stuff out there and how it keeps people confused year after year.

“Your logic is impeccable and irrefutable. I have been benefiting from your wisdom for years. I love the audio, the humor of the fitness industry is amazing. Truly snake oil.”
-William S.

“Next time warn me that I need to wear an oxygen mask to keep me from going into purple apoplexy from laughing so hard. After listening to that you don’t need to do abs!”
-John S.

Here is a short preview you can hear immediately.

Here is the link to download the complete 28-minute mp3 audio file which is about 13 megs in size. Right-click on it and select “save link as” or “save target as” or “save file as” – whatever term your browser uses for downloading a file.

Hi Pete how are you, I just wanted to take this oppurtunity to say thank you for your brilliant work with your static contraction program. I have been using it for the past five months and have without a shadow of a doubt increased my strength in that period. I feel stronger than ever and am lifting more weight then I ever dreamed of. Although I have seen this improvement I have been regularly measuring my muscles but since I started I have noted no increase in the size of my muscle, it would be greatly appreciated if you could explain to me what exactly is happening, if there is something I am doing wrong. I have not been taking any supplements as per your recommendation. Many thanks M.Z Jappie

1. Always use bodyfat measurement so you know how much muscle you have gained. A tape measure can’t tell you that.
2. Make sure you are eating enough to build muscle. Some ectomorphs have to eat like horses to gain weight. (My son needs 3,500+/day to get past 145 lbs at 6’4″.)

If I recall correctly this was the audio that you passed around in your mailing list about a year ago in your old website. Brilliant stuff, I’ve tried telling a few people online about SCT or PFT, but they always resort to “what famous BBer has built their physique entirely on this system?” as if that puts invalidity to any training system.

Bodybuilding is a hobby for people who LOVE to be in the gym as often as possible. By definition, they will never use a training system that offers 25 seconds of exercise every few weeks. THAT’S why serious bodybuilders don’t use Static Contraction.

Great stuff, Pete! I love the track and field athlete analogy!
